About the Author
Marcel Paquet was born in 1947 in Jumet, Belgium. In 1978 he obtained his doctorate from the Free University of Brussels with a thesis entitled La Diff�rence des Pense�s de Kant et de Hegel dans la question de l'essence de l'art. Dividing his time between Brussels and Paris, he has published a number of books on such subjects as Paul Delvaux, Fernando Botero, and Hans Bellmer.

NOT in French
By I Know What You Should Read
The top-rated review for this book warns that the book's text is in French. My copy is an English-text copy. Not sure why they are not consistent. This is a good coffee table book with lots of fun Magritte art (many of his lesser-known works, which is nice).

Great pictures and well-written explanations; everything is in English in case you are wondering. I got it for my girlfriend, who is a big Magritte fan; she loved it!

A good buy.

This is a decent "art book" that has Magritte's paintings. It is not super large and glossy, like some, but pretty decent, There is a small amount of text that describes the painting, but not a lot, which is just what I wanted. It is very reasonably priced for what it is.
