About the Author

Scott Watson is a veteran music teacher, a frequently published and commissioned composer, and a highly regarded music education technology specialist. In addition to 20 years of experience in teaching K-12 instrumental and classroom music in the Parkland School District (Allentown, Pennsylvania), Watson serves as adjunct instructor at University of the Arts and Cairn University (both in the Philadelphia area) and Central Connecticut State University (New Britain, CT), and has delivered numerous workshops and clinics to in-service music teachers.

Excellent Text for Integration of Technology in Music Education

Using Technology to Unlock Musical Creativity is an incredible asset for music educators. I use this text in my Integration of Technology in Music Education course at The University of the Arts. It provides a unique and compelling perspective into WHY and HOW technology is an integral component of creative and expressive lenses of learning through music for all students. Beyond the 8 Principles, which are a thoughtful foundation to the WHY of using technology, seemingly an outgrowth of Dr. Watson's extensive professional and educational career as musician-composer-educator, the second half of the book puts these ideals into action (the HOW), supported by actual student samples available through an Oxford University Press link. All three components of this book create a tangible teaching tool in my classroom, guiding pre-service musician-educators through inquiry, learning and understanding. However, I feel that this book is also a solid resource for current music education professionals looking for ideas and guidance as they bring 21st century skills into their classrooms via technology.

Scott Watson not only provides 30 lessons covering multiple grade levels but he gives outstanding insight on the creative process for both the teacher and student. If you have little or no experience with music creation in your classroom and know little about music technology in education, this is the book to get.

Amazing gift, tons of things you can do with this!

This is a really fun book to read, a typical Dr Seuss treasure. I purchased this book for my daughters first birthday party and had all of the guests write well wishes and notes for her to read as she got older. Now when she reads the book she has these lovely messages to remind her of how much she's loved and it made her first birthday that much more special!

I am a HUGE fan of Dr. Seuss books. I ordered this book for my sister's baby shower. It was a reading theme. I thought this would be the perfect book for a sign in book. It worked out perfectly. The book is normal size, not small like most Dr. Seuss books. I was super excited about this because it gave us more room to sign names. It is the original Dr. Seuss book with the beautiful illustrations! This book is now an amazing keepsake for my unborn niece or nephew! Every time my sister reads it to him/her she can remember all of the people at her shower. Great book for all ages~

Questions are very close in style/content to my class exam questions

2nd year med student here (can't imagine who else would want this, lol) and I love this book. Robbins is our class text for pathology, and I hate reading, so I do these questions after watching lecture (and pathoma) and it works awesome. Some of these questions are essentially identical to questions from my exams! Really glad I decided to buy this one.

Good book to recommend to new .net developers.

This is the first book I recommend to people starting .NET. It gives a nice overview. When I made the transition from programming in C to .NET - I did not have any books that provided a higher level view of the .NET framework, tools, and development process. At that time the books mainly just restated what the MSDN pages had for info. It could be a bigger book and more info - but sometimes you give the extra star because the author(s) created something that's needed. After this book I'd recommend the C# Step By Step book.

This for sure is the start-up in learning .NET framework. I got this because I was studying php and sql. It gives much background information and shows what .NET is all about.

Computers are complicated but the complication is really many simple events taking place with rapidity. This shows some of the basic underbelly of the fascination we have with technology.
