Good book - but not as easy to learn as from videos

This book is good, but let's face it, it's difficult to learn software from a book. "E-Learning Heroes" (the Articulate learning community site) has a bunch of videos available to learn how to do everything you need to do - from adding triggers to change the state of an object to creating a freeform quiz. So, save your money from the cost of this book, and sign up instead so you can view the videos on the Community site (no purchase necessary): community . articulate . com.

Although familiair with Articulate this book on the new Storyline product is very helpful. The authors take you step-by-step through the system, clearly written. I learned a few new tricks. Very helpful book.

Diane Elkins is the consummate explainer!

I recently took a course on Captivate 7 with Diane Elkins. Her book can easily stand alone as the authoritative "how to" on using Captivate 7. She also provides a very unbiased, yet helpful, perspective on what this software does well (and not so well), and recommends ways to get the most out of the software in order to create high-quality on-line learning. This is money well-spent. She explains, step by step, how to create captivate presentations. I would unequivocally recommend this guide to anyone trying to learn this software and plan to use it as a handy reference when creating presentations in Captivate. I further suggest that if anyone gets the chance to take an in-person course with her they should jump at the chance. She's very logical, engaging, and approachable and makes this training enjoyable.
